Adoption Process

Each rescue group/individual rescuer sets their own policies and procedures, so the process may vary slightly from group to group. There are similarities and best practices, however, so here is a general guideline of what to expect in your quest to adopt a Samoyed:

1. Locate your local rescue contact
2. Obtain the adoption application for that group. Complete the application and return it as directed.
3. Your local rescue volunteer will contact you with any questions they may have.
4. Your local rescue volunteer will schedule a home visit with you.
5. When a dog that might be a good fit for you/your family/situation, the rescuer will contact you to arrange a meeting.
6. If all goes well, you'll sign the adoption contract, provide an adoption donation, and voila, you have a new member of your family!

The rescuers may arrange follow up visits or contact. At a minimum, we want to know how things are working out -- we *LOVE* to hear good stories and are always here to help if things aren't going as smoothly as desired.
