KaseyKasey
Kasey was given up to rescue because her owners were moving. Between undiagnosed hypothyroid and her having been shaved every year, this 7-year old came to rescue with her coat a mess. She's now on an inexpensive thyroid medication and her coat has greatly improved!! (New pictures will be coming soon)

Kasey is a sweetheart who loves riding in cars, pulls a little on the leash, is OK w/ male dogs, but is not good with cats. She is curious and always on the go, but not hyper. If she happens to get ahold of something she shouldn't have, she will trade the contraband for a treat. She has no toddler experience so we don't want to place her in a home with small children since she isn't tried and true in that department, but other than that & the cat issue, the main requirement for her forever home is one that's full of love and is willing to make the commitment to her that her previous owners didn't make.

Kasey is lost without her previous humans, so she will easily attach herself to a new family. She would very much like to get out of the boarding kennel in which she's currently staying to go either directly to her forever home or to a foster home where she can get some more attention. Afterall, a girl this sweet deserves nothing less!

Zeke
Zeke is a mild-mannered, 8 year old sweetheart who was turned into a high kill shelter by her owners. They gave little explaination other than they did not have time for her any more.   Her coat was a filthy matted mess so the shelter personnel shaved it all off.  Zeke was so embarassed about not having any hair that she wore a tee-shirt for a few weeks after she came into rescue.

Her owners told the shelter that she had been living outside in a yard with an invisible fence. We suspect that other animals came into her yard and tormented her as she is distrustful of other dogs and becomes defensive when she encounters one; previously, she was at their mercy because she was confined by the invisible fence and couldn't get away from them.

Zeke coos (or moos), but has not barked.   Although she's a large girl and extremely strong, she walks nicely on a leash and she thinks car rides are really great!  She is both housetrained and crate trained. Like a typical Sammy, she's a ham -- she likes to have her picture taken and will stop what she is doing to pose when she sees a camera!!

She is adaptable and would adjust easily to a new family that she could love and who would love her in return. Zeke would do best in a home where she is the only pet and there are no small children as she was yelled at frequently (sigh!) in her previous home and she might interpret the quick actions and loud noises of children as yelling/threatening behavior.

Charlie
Charlie is a 10-year old who was in bad shape when he was turned into the shelter -- he is dysplastic and at that time, he was so weak he couldn't walk. His coat was also covered through and through with stickers. In fact, he had to spend a month at a foster home before he was strong enough to be transported to rescue.

Well, Charlie has quite a resilient personality, and so none of that stopped him in the least!!! It's amazing what some love, TLC, good food, and exercise can do!! He now has run of the 10 acres where he's being fostered, and regularly covers about 2 acres of it, checking in here and there with all of the friends he has made, both human and canine. He has become the "shop mascot" (as you can see in the picture) and has endeared himself to one and all! He's good with other dogs, loves people of all ages, and is an all around sweetheart!

For more information about Charlie or if you are interested in giving this wonderful guy the home he so richly deserves, please contact Pyles of Smiles Samoyed Rescue.
